Technology Service Solutions Expanded 

2020
CS Erickson assumes Custer Technology’s audiovisual and technology services and resources, effective January 1, 2020. The shift aligns CS Erickson’s capabilities with Custer, Inc.’s longstanding portfolio of technology customers in order to better serve the expanding technology needs of growing companies in West and Northern Michigan.

The Merger 

2017
In 2017, Custer facilitated the merger between C&S and Erickson Electric to form CS Erickson. Combining the two electrical companies allows both to take on larger projects and to expand their services into the greater West Michigan market. The combined companies now have a team of 40 highly skilled electricians and employees.

C&S Electric Purchased

2014
In 2014, C&S Electric Service was purchased by Custer, Inc., a full service commercial renovations company based in Grand Rapids, MI.

Twenty-seven Years of Success

1987-2014
Over the next twenty-seven years, Tom and Erickson Electric have taken on larger projects and expanded their capabilities in order to better serve both commercial and industrial customers, adding communications and controls as well as building and repairing industrial equipment.

Erickson Electric Begins

1987
In 1987, Tom Erickson began Erickson Electric Service in Grand Haven. It was not long before he was hiring additional employees and it became obvious that Tom could no longer operate his business from his home. He purchased a vacant lot and had a building designed and built to his specifications in order to optimize his growing business. In February of 1989, construction was completed on CS Erickson’s current operations facility. An addition was completed in June of 2000, bringing the total work area to 5,150 square feet.

Ferry Street Location Purchased

1985
Over the next few years, business started to pick up and the owners of C&S quickly realized that more space was needed to grow their business. In 1985, C&S Electric Service purchased a large lot at 220 N. Ferry Street in Grand Haven. A new building was built and the large lot provided extra space to expand as the business grew. CS Erickson operates out of this location today.

C & S Electric Service Begins

1981
In 1981, Patrick Corbett and Jerry Shear started C&S Electric Service first in the basement of Pat’s house and then by renting a small space in the Grand Haven Brass Foundry. Later in 1981, the business moved to a small building at 1107 Columbus Street in Grand Haven.
